Helen Louise (Herrmann) Parks, 93, of Fredericktown, Ohio died on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Knox Community Hospital. Helen was born on December 5, 1932 in Connersville, Indiana to the late Louise M. (Roell) and Edward H. Herrmann. She was the Salutatorian of her graduating class of 1951 from Monroe High School at West Manchester, Ohio.

Helen and Harold Parks were married August 25, 1951 at “The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church” in Eaton, Ohio. They were married 67 years when Harold died July 28, 2018. They purchased a dairy farm in Knox County and continued to farm until they went into grain farming in 1992.

Helen will be remembered for her baking, especially the homemade cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, and pies. She gardened every year and canned and froze thousands of containers of fruits and vegetables over the years. Helen loved to sew and her talent knew no end from clothes for her own children to quilts for her grand and great-grandchildren.

Helen was a faithful member of the Saint John the Baptist Parish attending Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon.

Helen is survived by daughters, Mary Ann (William) Glick of Newark, Ohio, LuAnn (Mario) Davenport of Cleveland, Elaine (Tom) Freer of Fredericktown, Amy (Ryan) House of Mount Vernon; sons, Tony (Carol Sue) Parks of Spencer, Mike (Mary Jane) Parks of Mount Vernon, Nicholas (Patricia) Parks of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Dean (Dawn) Parks of Mount Vernon; 11 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Edward C. Herrmann; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Parks; a son, Steven John Parks; a daughter, Jeanine Carol Parks; grandson-in-law, Nathan Robinson; sisters, Stella Berg and Catherine Norris; and brothers, Albert, Paul, Bernard, John, and Robert Herrmann.

The family will receive friends from 1- 4 on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd., Mount Vernon. The Rosary will be recited following the visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (200 block of East High St.) with Rev. Father James Farnan as the Celebrant. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2026 in Mound Hill Cemetery, 103 Camden Rd, Eaton, Ohio with Deacon Tim Birie presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
