CENTERBURG — This weekend’s Old Time Farming Festival is a must-see for anyone who wants a living history lesson filled with fun and engaging experiences.
The annual festival celebrates the village’s farming heritage through historical farming demonstrations, tractor and machinery displays, a craft show and horticultural exhibits.
Other activities include a raffle, live entertainment, hayrides and old-fashioned games.
The festival kicks off Saturday with a parade at 10 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. Sunday. Following is a schedule of events.
Saturday, Sept. 19
10 a.m. – Parade: Starts at the Centerburg Church of Christ and goes up Main Street, turning onto State Route 314 and into Memorial Park
- All Day Tractor/Machinery Display until dark (TA).
- All Day – Kid’s Pony Rides, Craft Show, Horticulture Show, Historical Center & Old Fashioned Demos, Pumpkin Vine Railroad, Horse-drawn Wagon Rides, Face Painting, Tractors (most will close at 5 p.m. on both days).
- Noon – Cast Iron Kettle Cooked beans over open fire with Fresh Corn Bread

- 12:15 p.m. Cake Walk (C&G)
- 12:30 p.m. Watermelon Seed Spitting (C&G)

- 4 p.m. – Tractor Parade through the Park
