Marcus William Phillis, age 26, of Limestone, NY; formerly of Walhonding, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from injuries he sustained from an accident.
He was born on May 20, 1999, to Alicia Burwell and Darren Phillis.
Marcus was a member of the East Knox FFA and of the Limestone New York Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed going on calls and volunteering at events. He was a jack of all trades. Anything that someone needed done he was the guy they’d call to have it done. He enjoyed fixing vehicles, home repairs, and he especially like making the yard look good after a mowing. He loved spending time with family, friends, his girlfriend, and his dog Nova. He enjoyed sitting around a fire and relaxing with his buddies and having a cold one. Marcus wasn’t afraid of anything. He was fearless and up for a challenge. Always had a smile on his face and used his charm to light up the room.
Marcus is survived by his parents, five brothers, Devan (Megan) Phillis, Austin Phillis, Dalton (Alyse) Phillis, Nathan Burwell, Ethan Phillis; his life companion, Kylee Case; maternal grandfather, Gary (Diane) Burwell; paternal grandfather, Maynard Phillis; a niece, Navy Mae Phillis; along with many aunts, uncles and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Leona Myers, paternal grandmothers, Marlene Thornberry and Carol Phillis; along with his aunt, Denise Salmons.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the Bladensburg Church of Christ in Bladensburg. A short funeral service will follow calling hours with Pastor Bart Rine officiating. The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the services for the Phillis family.
