MOUNT VERNON — A Knox County grand jury indicted a man from Brinkhaven for one count of alleged felonious assault and three counts of allegedly having weapons under disability.

Justin R. Stachler, 40, allegedly committed felonious assault, a second-degree felony, “by knowingly causing or attempting to cause physical harm [to a victim] by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordinance,” the Knox County Common Pleas Court online records state.

A firearm specification is also listed under the felonious assault charge, specifically, a 9mm Taurus pistol.

Additionally, the court charged the defendant with three third-degree felony counts of having weapons under disability.

The Knox County Common Pleas Court previously convicted Stachler of heroin possession, which bars him from acquiring, possessing, carrying or using a firearm.

Stachler will appear before Judge Richard Wetzel for an arraignment on Jan. 28.

— Bruce A. Casto, of Centerburg, aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

— Daniel E. Miller, of Mount Vernon, having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony; a forfeiture specification to count one.
