MOUNT VERNON — A Centerburg man was indicted on felony charges for allegedly endangering children in the most recent Knox County grand jury session.

Jeremy E. Dick, 41, was indicted on two counts of endangering children, both fourth-degree felonies, and one count of obstructing official business, a second-degree misdemeanor.

Dick was either convicted of or pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor child endangerment charge (or any offense involving neglect, abandonment, contributing to the delinquency of, or physical abuse of a child) in 2024 in Mount Vernon Municipal Court.

According to the new indictment, Dick allegedly committed all three new counts, “on or about the 1st day of August 2025.”

Dick allegedly “did commit endangering children, in that, being the parent, guardian, custodian, or person having custody or control of a child under eighteen years of age, created a substantial risk to the health or safety of said child by violating a duty of care, protection or support.”

Per Dick’s indictment, he allegedly “placed his two naked daughters in the doorway to prevent law enforcement from entry into the residence, a misdemeanor of the second degree.”

According to Knox County Common Pleas Court online records, Dick is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon before Judge Richard Wetzel.
