MOUNT VERNON — The Yellow Jackets will likely open the postseason on the road.

Mount Vernon (10-10) picked up the No. 31 seed during Sunday’s tournament draw and has an opening-round bye. The Yellow Jackets will either play at No. 3 New Albany (16-4) or host No. 37 Thomas Worthington (7-13) at 7 p.m. March 1.

The higher-seeded team hosts in the sectional before games shift to neutral sites for the district tournament. 

New Albany will host Thomas Worthington in a sectional semifinal game at 7 p.m. Feb. 27. 

Division III

Fredericktown (13-5) picked up the No. 8 seed and will visit No. 6 Fairbanks (18-4) at 7 p.m. Feb. 27. 

No. 16 Centerburg (9-10) has an opening-round bye and will play a sectional final road game against either No. 10 Cardington (14-6) or No. 15 Horizon Science Academy (10-11). Cardington hosts Horizon Science at 7 p.m. Feb. 27.

No. 23 East Knox (2-16) will open the tournament at No. 1 Columbus Academy (16-3) or at No. 21 West Jefferson (4-15) at 7 p.m. March 1. Columbus Academy hosts West Jefferson in a sectional semifinal at 7 p.m. Feb. 27. 

Division IV

No. 18 Danville (4-17) visits No. 1 Northside Christian (12-5) in a sectional final at 1 p.m. March 2.
