The 21-foot Uncle Sam's Slide is one of eight inflatables featured at the 2023 Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival.

CENTERBURG — The Heart of Ohio USA Days committee is happy to announce this year’s entrants for the annual Miss Liberty/Uncle Sammy Pageant.

The entrants for the Uncle Sammy title include Master Dylan Miller, 4-year-old son of McKinsey Payne and Jason Gornichec of Centerburg; Master Cruz Valentine, 4-year-old son of Shelby and Joey Valentine of Centerburg.

For Miss Liberty, first is 5-year-old Everleigh Hammond, daughter of Tim and Sara Hammond of Mount Vernon. Next is a sister act with 4-year-old Lydia Griffin and 5-year-old Stella Griffin, who are the daughters of Brian and Stephanie Griffin of Sunbury.

Next, is 6-year-old Miss RaeLynn Gowans, who is the child of Alex and Shannon Gowans of Centerburg. Then Miss Lucille Radcliff, daughter of Ron and Cassie Radcliff of Centerburg, who is also six.

The next little one is Emerson Moreland, better known as Emmy. She is 5 and is from Summerville, South Carolina but is up here for the summer with grandma. Her parents are Josh and Messina Moreland, who are former Centerburg residents.

Finally, is Miss August Vickers, 6-year-old daughter of Justin and Lydia Corby of Centerburg.

The pageant will be held on opening night, Thursday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. just after the Diaper Derby at 7. All entries will be on stage and each will do a walk and be interviewed before the big winners are announced.
