Kenneth W. “Bill” Yough, age 89, of Centerburg passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023, at The Inn at Walnut Trail in Sunbury.
He was born on April 21, 1933, in Mount Liberty, Ohio to the late William Kenneth and Emma Mae (Wolfe) Yough. Bill grew up in Mount Liberty and graduated from Centerburg High School. He was employed and retired from Cooper Energy Services after many years of service. He also worked at Ariel Corporation and taught at the Knox County Joint Vocational School. Bill was a member of the Brandon Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Lodge #9 F & AM. He enjoyed horses, football, camping and fishing. He and his wife spent a lot of time after their retirement at West Harbor Club on Catawba Island fishing to their limit. Bill also enjoyed keeping up with his grandchildren’s extracurricular activities. He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, of over 65 years, Betty (Smith) Yough; his daughter Karen (Thom) Fowler; his son Chuck (Laura) Yough; three grandchildren, Dr. Massey Fowler, Josh Yough, Lynden Yough; his brother Cloyd Yough; and his sister Carol Jeanine Yoakam.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00pm with a Masonic service following. The funeral service will take place on Friday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11am with Pastor Thom Fowler and Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, will take place in Mount Liberty Cemetery.
