MOUNT VERNON — On Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, citywide leaf pick-up in the City of Mount Vernon will be completed.
The city will begin pile pick-ups the week of Nov. 22 to 24.
Any residents with leaves that still need to be picked up, should call the Street Department office at 740-393-9501 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The city will attempt to pick up leaves the week of Nov. 29 to Dec. 3. However, this is weather-dependent. If there is a winter-weather event, the trucks will be converted to spread salt and plow.
There will be absolutely no pick-up after Dec. 3, 2021.
The leaf drop-off area at the Thayer Road Compost Facility remains open; the gates are open Monday-Sunday, dawn until dusk. This is for loose leaves only.
All bags and other containers must be removed from the area after they are emptied.
