MOUNT VERNON — When you or a family member wakes up not feeling well, and your primary care provider is not available, that is when you head to a walk-in clinic.
Knox Community Hospital is opening a new walk-in clinic at its Fredericktown Family Medicine practice on Sept. 14.
The goal of the walk-in clinic is to improve access to care. The concept is like an extension of a family doctor. Adults and children can be treated for minor conditions that have lasted less than two weeks.
Conditions the Fredericktown providers will treat include minor illness or minor injury, skin concerns, joint pain, nausea and vomiting, cold or flu-like symptoms, cough, ear pain, sore throat, staple or suture removal, sprains/strains, UTI symptoms, and insect bites.
“Our goal is simple: to make exceptional healthcare more accessible to every member of our community,” Sarah Kettell, director of KCH’s Department of Primary & Specialty Care, said.
“This new walk-in clinic expands our primary care services to provide open, same-day medical attention for all ages, strengthening our commitment to a healthier Fredericktown.”
A person does not need to be an established patient at KCH to use this service, and no appointment is needed.
