KNOX COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Feb. 1

  • A traffic stop was made on a vehicle driven by Scott E. Vance for a marked lanes violation. The deputy asked Vance to perform standardized field sobriety tests. The driver complied with the testing and performed poorly. Vance was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence of an unknown substance.
  • The KCSO received a report of a possible attempt to use mail and e-mail to commit fraud. Deputies spoke to the complainant. Advice was given and a report taken.

Feb. 2

  • The complainant advised he returned home to find his mailbox on fire. Photographs were taken and a report was made for documentation.
  • A deputy was traveling on Danville-Amity Rd. when he noticed a truck in a field near Terrace Ridge Circle. The vehicle had spun off the roadway and was stuck. The driver, Joseph Gouge, was given field sobriety tests and arrested for OVI. Gouge was taken to the Knox County Jail and his truck impounded.

Feb. 3

  • A deputy was dispatched to a Newark Rd. residence on a report of domestic violence. When he arrived on the scene he arrested Bill A. Compton on charges of domestic violence and assault.
  • A deputy was dispatched to a residence on S. Main St. in Fredericktown. The complainant said Christian W. Robinette was being violent with his mother and himself. The deputy had been to this residence once before on 2-2-19 along with Fredericktown police. Robinette was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct with persisting.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Fredericktown-Amity Rd. on a report of an injured deer on the roadway. The deer was located, removed from the road and dispatched.
  • Deputies observed a vehicle leaving storage units on Harcourt Rd. during the early morning hours. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and a probable cause search resulted in the locating of marijuana and marijuana drug paraphernalia. The driver, Christopher Korns was arrested for OVI and also cited for the drugs and paraphernalia.
