MOUNT VERNON — Rheumatology has been a specialty long identified as needed in Knox County.
Knox Community Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of rheumatologist Hufza Hanif, MD to the medical staff.
Rheumatologists treat conditions that occur when your immune system isn’t functioning properly. There are more than 100 rheumatic diseases. Among the ones you are most likely to recognize are osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and reactive arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis, Sjogren ’s syndrome and Behcet’s disease.
Dr. Hanif is experienced in all areas of rheumatology and looks forward to practicing and caring for patients here in Knox County with a goal of making a difference in the lives of her patients.
Dr. Hanif received her medical degree from Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. She completed a rheumatology fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine, and has been a clinical assistant professor at both Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
