MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon’s Nick Coon and Lexington’s Scott Hamilton shared the Ohio Cardinal Conference boys basketball championship and on Tuesday night the league’s Coach of the Year honor.

Madison senior Kyle Jackson was chosen the OCC Player of the Year after a vote of the league’s coaches on Tuesday night.

To the Rack

Jackson fired the biggest individual shot heard all season on Friday night, pouring in a school-record 43 points to power the Rams past arch-rival Mansfield Sr. 82-58, denying the Tygers a share of the league championship.
