MOUNT VERNON – Soroptimist International Clubs in the Midwestern Region are accepting applications for the Virginia M. Wagner Education Grant. The Mount Vernon Club award is $1000 to a woman in the community currently attending college or university, working toward a bachelors, masters or doctoral degree in her chosen field. Award winners advance to the District level judging where the winner is given an additional $500 award. District winners are then judged and the winning entrant from the Midwestern Region (Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin) is presented with a $2500 check at the Midwestern Region Spring Conference held in April.
