MOUNT VERNON – The 2015 Distinguished Young Women of Ohio Scholarship Program kicked off Saturday as the 25 participants arrived in Mount Vernon for a welcome ceremony at the Memorial Building. The senior high school girls will be competing for thousands of dollars in scholarships in hopes of being named Ohio’s Distinguished Young woman and representing the Buckeye State in the national DYW program. The young ladies will be staying with host families throughout the week while they rehearse for next weekend’s program.
