MOUNT VERNON – Radio Shack has confirmed the company’s store at 1490 Coshocton Road will close March 31 as part of a restructuring plan. 1,784 Radio Shack stores in several states will close. A person who answered the phone would not answer any questions as to how many employees work at the store. A public relations spokesperson with the corporate office would not say how many employees would be affected locally nor if the company would offer assistance to help them find new employment, saying it’s a “fluid situation.”
The Mount Vernon Radio Shack store has been open since 1996 and has sold electronic equipment including headphones, speakers, wearable technology, smart toys, power accessories and home entertainment.
