MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Mount Vernon Police Department, Municipal Court Probation, City Law Director’s Office, Knox County Prosecutor’s Office, Common Pleas Court Adult Court Services, and Ohio Adult Parole Authority conducted their regularly scheduled sex offender compliance check. Officers visited the residences of each of the registered sex offenders in Knox County to verify that they are in compliance with their registration information, and also providing accurate information.
At the end of the day, forty seven offender locations have been confirmed. Thirty three locations still need confirmation. So far, one offender has been reported to have moved out of the county without registering a change of address. If the offender is found to be in violation, charges will be filed.
