GRANVILLE – Troopers from the Granville post of the Ohio State HIghway Patrol are investigating a triple fatal crash that occurred on Hardscabble Road, near Northridge Road just after 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Jaylynn Rigio, 16, from Johnstown was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi eastbound on Hardscrabble Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Rigio was taken by Air Evac to Children’s Hospital. The right front passenger, Ashton Cody, 16, from Johnstown was taken to Grant Medical Center by St. Albans Township EMS.
There were three additional passengers in the rear seat of the vehicle, and all three were pronouced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The three passengers were Michael Hoskinson, 17; Linzie Bell, 15; and Cheyenne, 15; all from Johnstown.
The Patrol says speed is considered to be a factor in the crash. None of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.
