MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Grand Jury indicted a Mount Vernon man during its most recent session for allegedly assaulting a police officer and three other charges while the officer was on duty.

On or about Aug. 31, Hunter M. Clemons allegedly committed felonious assault, strangulation, and two counts of assault on a police officer, the indictment reads.

His charges are as follows: felonious assault, first-degree felony; strangulation, third-degree felony; assault on a peace officer, fourth-degree felony; assault on a peace officer, fourth-degree felony.

Clemons is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 18 before Judge Richard Wetzel, according to Knox County Common Pleas Court online records.
