Arrests and Charges:
Jerime Graham Woods, 23, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 6:20 a.m. on Friday as a suspicious person.
John Palmer, 24, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday for domestic violence, for a probation violation, and for a drug paraphernalia offense.
Traffic Citations:
Jerry Shaw, 29, of Mount Vernon was cited at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday for running a red-light.
Ada Jacobs, 72, of Gambier was cited at 1:55 p.m. on Thursday for starting and backing a vehicle without insuring it was safe to do so.
Blake Fritz, 77, of Mount Vernon was cited at 1:55 p.m. on Thursday for starting and backing a vehicle without insuring it was safe to do so.
Stephanie Johnson, 26, of Mount Vernon was cited at 3:05 p.m. on Saturday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.
Cathy Werely, 66, of Mount Vernon was cited at 5:10 p.m. on Saturday for failing to yield the right-of-way when turning left.
Stephen Short, 55, of Mount Vernon was cited at 2:35 p.m. on Sunday for making an illegal turn.
Accidents:
At 11:20 a.m. on Friday, Jason M. Spearman, 31, of Mount Vernon was heading eastbound on W. High Street in his 1995 Pontiac Grand Marquis. Blake M. Fritz, 77, of Mount Vernon attempted to back his 2014 Chevy Impala out of a parking space in front of the post office, failed to notice Spearman’s vehicle, and struck it. Fritz was cited for the incident.
At 3:05 p.m. on Saturday, Stephanie N. Johnson, 26, of Mount Vernon was heading westbound on Coshocton Avenue near Center Street in her 2003 Ford Windstar. She failed to see a stopped 1995 Ford Thunderbird driven by Paul D. Gillespie, 56, of Mount Vernon. The impact knocked Gillespie’s vehicle into a 2013 Honda Civic driven by Tracey P. Thompson, 45, of Butler. Butler’s vehicle struck a 2005 Dodge Mini-SUV driven by Danielle J. Hoar of Mount Vernon. Johnson was cited for the incident.
At 5:05 p.m. on Saturday, Cathy S. Wereley, 66, of Mount Vernon was heading westbound on E. Vine Street in his 2013 Kia Spirit. Nacole M. Stepp, 25, or Mount Vernon was heading eastbound on E. Vine Street in his 2009 Ford Fusion. Wereleyattempted to turn left onto S. Park Street, failed to yield to Stepp, and struck her vehicle. Wereley was cited for the incident.
At 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Connor J. Black, 20, of Mount Vernon was traveling southbound on N. West Street in his 2000 Jeep Cherokee and was unable to stop at the stop-sign at the W. Burgess Street intersection due to inclement weather. Erica N. Oberlin, 25, of Lexington was traveling westbound on W. Burgess Street in her 1999 Subaru Forester and Black struck her vehicle in the side.
Incidents:
At 6:45 a.m. on Friday, officers arrested a suspicious person for a probation violation on the 000-block of W. Chestnut Street. A “green leafy bud” was collected as evidence.
At 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, a victim reported that someone stole his Xbox 360 from his residence on the 500-block of E. Burgess Street. An “Elliott Smith” CD was also taken.
At 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, officers arrested Timothy Conley II for domestic violence after an incident at a residence on the 300-block of W. Vine Street.
At 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, a victim reported fraudulent activity.
Just after 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a business alarm on the 1400-block of Coshocton Avenue.
At 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, a victim reported the theft of her 1998 Chrysler Sebring. A suspect was identified.
At 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a reported assault at Knox Community Hospital.
