Frances L. Barnett, 91, of Mount Gilead, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, Oct. 25, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1927, in Uniontown, Ohio, to the late Van Marsh and Carrie Louella (Van Horn) Randolph. During the war efforts Frances studied to be a nurse at the local hospital to assist with the trying times.
On Aug. 27, 1945, Frances married the love of her life, Herman L. “Jack” Barnett in Greenup, Kentucky. They shared almost 69 wonderful years together as husband and wife.
For many years, Frances worked in assembly for North Electric. Later she became a homemaker tending to the needs of her family.
Having a gift to create Frances loved to crochet. She made anything and everything of which she was known for her slippers. She also enjoyed working in the yard and fixing up old houses. She was the “original” flipper.
Frances loved her family and friends. She enjoyed her neighbors and often lent an ear to those who needed it. She will be dearly missed by her family for her caring and loving touches only a mom and grandma could provide.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Maxine Bunker, of Mount Gilead, Richard (Tammy Martin) Barnett, of Wildwood, Florida, Francine (Ron Daniels) Tindall, of Lakeland, Florida, and Maydell (Robert) Delaney, of Mount Gilead; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Lela Johnson, of Kansas.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Roger Barnett; and brothers: Herman, Harold, and Glen Randolph.
Her family will greet friends from noon to 1 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel. (67 N. Main St., Mt. Gilead, Ohio, 43338) Services honoring her life will be held there at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott MaGlott officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Morrow County.
