MOUNT VERNON — A Knox County grand jury handed down 10 indictments during its latest session on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023.
The cases include:
Jeffrey Petrey, Newark, aggravated possession of drugs, fifth-degree felony; driving under suspension, first-degree misdemeanor; illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth-degree misdemeanor
Robert Balcom, Mount Vernon, three counts of assault on a peace officer, all fourth-degree felonies; obstructing official business, second-degree misdemeanor; harassment with bodily substance, fifth-degree felony; aggravated menacing, first-degree misdemeanor
Mark Preece, Fredericktown, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, first-degree felony; aggravated trafficking in drugs, second-degree felony; forfeiture specification as to count two; conspiracy to commit aggravated trafficking in dru, third-degree felony; trafficking in fentanyl-related compound, fourth-degree felony; forfeiture specification as to count four; conspiracy to commit trafficking in a fentanyl-rel, fifth-degree felony; possession of a fentanyl-related compound, third-degree felony
