Incidents:

At 8:40 p.m. on Monday, officers investigated a loud explosion reported on the 1000-block of W. Vine Street.

At 12:40 a.m. on Monday, a victim reported that her vehicle was stolen at the Speedway on Columbus Road.  She had left the keys in it when she went inside.  The victim reported that a male suspect (later identified as Bryan Walley) with a dog entered the vehicle and headed south on S. Main Street.  The vehicle was located heading southbound on Newark Road.  The driver failed to stop in response to emergency lights, turned onto Parrot Street, and ran a red-light at the Main Street intersection.  He then failed to stop at Columbus Road, proceeded the wrong-way on a one-way at the intersection of Columbus and Harcourt roads, veered left of the center line and off the right-side of the roadway several times.  His speed varied from 15 to 65 m.p.h.  The Knox County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the suspect’s eventual arrest as reported Monday on KnoxPages.com.

Arrests and Charges:

Jeremy Morris, 27, of Danville was arrested at 10:35 a.m. on Sunday for a probation violation.

Bryan Walley, 48, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 12:25 a.m. on Monday for grand theft of a motor vehicle, for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, and for driving under a suspended/revoked licensed.

Traffic Citations:

Nathan Stojek, 21, of Mount Vernon was cited at 5:45 a.m. on Sunday for running a stop-sign.

Accidents:

At 2:35 p.m. on Monday, Logan S. Boyd, 20, of Howard was eastbound on Coshocton Road in his 2002 GMC Yukon.  Near Upper Gilchrist Road, he was unable to stop for slowed or stopped traffic, went off the right side of the roadway, and struck a culvert.  Boyd was cited for the incident.

KCSO

At 3:10 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported that someone had broken the rear-window of her vehicle while it was parked at the Centerburg High School. A laptop computer was removed from it.

At 3:50 p.m. on Friday, a Martinsburg resident reported that someone allegedly representing a collection agency attempted to collect money from her that she does not believe she owes. The suspect believes this to be a fraud.

At 4:25 p.m. on Friday, two fishermen reported that, after spending the day at the river, they found that someone had broken the window of their vehicle—which had been parked along Pipesville Road in Howard—and stolen their wallets and a cellphone.

At 6:10 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported that a UPS-delivered package had been stolen from his porch on the 200-block of N. Clayton Street in Centerburg.

At 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Brittany Marie Boyd, 20, of Danville was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

At 9:55 p.m. on Sunday, Richard L. Johnson, 33, of Mount Vernon was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

At 11:50 p.m. on Sunday, a victim reported that someone had entered an open barn on his property on Mount Liberty Road in Centerburg. Several tools and other items were taken from it.
