MOUNT VERNON — The Kokosing Valley Arts Alliance and the Woodward Opera House will once again open the stage to the community for Woodward Open Mic Night on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
This free public event invites musicians, poets, comedians, and performers of all kinds to share their talents in one of Mount Vernon’s most celebrated performing arts venues.
Hosted by Nellie Six and Side Effects, Woodward Open Mic Night brings together the vibrant local open mic communities for a special evening celebrating local creativity, artistic expression, and community connection.
Whether an experienced performer or someone stepping onto a stage for the very first time, participants are encouraged to bring their music, poetry, comedy, or other creative talents to the Woodward. The evening offers a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where artists can connect, audiences can discover new talent, and everyone can share in the excitement of live performance.
The Woodward Opera House provides a unique setting for the event, offering local performers the opportunity to take the stage in a venue that has long been part of Mount Vernon’s cultural heritage.
By bringing established community open mic gatherings together under one roof, the event celebrates the area’s growing creative community while introducing new audiences to the talents of their neighbors.
The partnership with local businesses that support the event reflects the important role local businesses play in supporting accessible arts programming and fostering a thriving cultural scene in downtown Mount Vernon.
The event is free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to attend, enjoy an evening of diverse entertainment, and support the performers. Bar service will be available from 6 to 9 p.m.
