Helena Mae (Fawcett) Smith, affectionately known as “Pumpkin,” passed away peacefully at her home on October 31 surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 20,1955,
Helen lived a life full of adventures and stories that could keep you listening for hours. She was funny, never one to sugarcoat things, and always willing to tell it to you straight. Her one-of-a-kind laugh could bring a smile to anyone, and if you knew Helen, chances are you have a story of your own to tell. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, from shopping to watching her favorite crime shows, but her greatest joy was always her family. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. The love she had for them and the memories they shared will be cherished for generations.
Helena is survived by her children, Gary “Buddy” (Toni) Smith and Brandy (Tim Rich) Butcher; her sisters, Candy (John) Hunter, Tina Cousins, and Louise (Robert) Dill; her grandchildren Brianna (Isaac) Nordmoe, Tyler (Zoe) Smith, Bette (Austin) Serio, Haylee (Sheldon) Hayes, Autumn Smith, and Alex Smith; her greatgrandchildren Keyonte, Mersadies, Gionvanni, Amari, Eben, Jetson, Serenity, Mia, Sadie, Mario, Liam, Lily, Hazel, and Owen and her aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and close friends that she loved dearly.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, James Fawcett and Bette Snyder, and her brothers, Jimmy Fawcett, Larry Fawcett, and Frank Snyder.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the family and friends who stood beside Helen throughout her battle with cancer. From taking her to appointments and shopping with her to managing her budget, picking up groceries, and simply checking in, every act of kindness reminded her she was loved. Your generosity, support, and presence meant more than words can express, and the family will be forever grateful.
A special thank you to the staff at Freedom Caregivers and Luminary Hospice for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to Helen and her family.
Your kindness and dedication will never be forgotten.
Though she will be deeply missed, Helen’s laughter, stories, and countless memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Per Helen’s final wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
