DANVILLE — Danville FFA’s Soils Team, as well as its Urban and Rural squad placed 10th in a very competitive District 7 CDE.

In rural soils, students evaluate soil profiles and demonstrate their skills in areas such as identifying soil horizons, determining soil texture and structure, calculating slope and evaluating various soil characteristics.

The information will be used to decide if the site is good for various different types of agricultural purposes, ultimately helping students prepare for possible future careers in different aspects of agriculture.
