MOUNT VERNON –There were nine people sentenced in Knox County Common Pleas Court in September.

According to court documents, Judge Richard Wetzel ordered the following sentences:

Sept. 3

  • Radusta L. Friedley, of Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

Radusta was sentenced to serve a one-year term of community control, to submit to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan, to submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and to submit to a mental health assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plant.

Sept. 10

  • Bryce N. Young, of Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. A first-degree misdemeanor charge of theft was dismissed.

Young was sentenced to serve a two-year term of community control and 340 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 220 days served.

The term is to be suspended on the condition that Young enters into and successfully completes the West Central community based correctional facility treatment program, submits to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and complies with any recommended treatment plan and submits to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and complies with all rules and regulations of the facility.

Young must also obtain and maintain full time employment.

  • Quiana H. Major, of Danville, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

Major was sentenced to a two-year term of community control and 180 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 32 days served.

The term is to be suspended on the condition that Major enters into and successfully completes the West Central community based correctional facility treatment program, submits to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and complies with any recommended treatment plan, submits to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and obtains and maintains full time employment.

  • Stacy L. Mackie, of Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a first-degree misdemeanor, and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. A third-degree felony charge of tampering with evidence was dismissed.

Mackie was sentenced to serve a two-year term of community control and three days in the Knox County Jail with credit for three days served on count one and 180 days in the jail with credit for 60 days served on count three.

The term is to be suspended on the condition that Mackie enters into and successfully completes the Mended Reeds residential treatment program, submits to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and complies with any recommended treatment plan, submits to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and obtains and maintains full time employment.

Mackie must also pay a fine of $565 and is subject to a mandatory operator’s license suspension of two years on count one.

  • Crystal S. West, of Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of attempted having weapons under disability, a fourth-degree felony.

West was sentenced to a one-year term of monitored time and 180 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 87 days served.

West must also submit to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan, to submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and obtain and maintain full time employment.

  • Jeremy A. Decker, of Centerburg, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.

Decker was sentenced to a one-year term of community control and seven days in the Knox County Jail with credit for seven days served.

Decker must also submit to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan, to submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and obtain and maintain full time employment.

Sept. 24

  • Nicole A. Wheeler, of Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fifth-degree felony.

Wheeler was sentenced to a two-year term of community control and 180 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 57 days served.

The term is to be suspended on the condition that Wheeler enters into and successfully complete the STAR Community Based correctional facility treatment program, submit to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan, to submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and obtain and maintain full time employment.

Wheeler also pleaded guilty to three charges of receiving stolen property, all fifth-degree felonies.

Wheeler was sentenced to a two-year term of community control and 180 days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 48 days served.

The term is to be suspended on the condition that Wheeler enters into and successfully complete the STAR community based correctional facility treatment program, submit to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan, to submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring and obtain and maintain full time employment.

  • Cheyenne M. Ramey, of Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a first-degree misdemeanor, and endangering children, a fifth-degree felony. Three other fifth-degree felony charges of endangering children were dismissed.

Ramey was sentenced to serve a two-year term of community control and three mandatory days in the Knox County Jail with credit for 0 days served on count one and 60 days in the jail with credit for 0 days served on count two, to be served concurrently.

Ramey must also submit to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan, submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring, obtain and maintain full time employment and submit to a mental health assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan.

Ramey must also pay a fine of $565 on count one and is subject to a mandatory operator’s license suspension of one year.

  • Jaron M. Dean, of Mount Vernon, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.

Dean was sentenced to serve a two-year term of community control and four days in the Knox County Jail with credit for four days served.

Dean must also submit to an out-patient drug and alcohol assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan, submit to a term of drug and alcohol use monitoring, obtain and maintain full time employment and submit to a behavioral health assessment and comply with any recommended treatment plan.
