Barbara Kay Butterman, age 85, of Howard, Ohio, passed away on her 85th birthday, Monday, September 7, 2026. She was born on September 7, 1941, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Rexford Loyal and Mabel Arline (Krichbaum) Parker.

Barbara grew up in Worthington, Ohio, moved to Cleveland, Ohio and back to the Columbus, Ohio area. She and her husband, Doug, enjoyed travelling until Doug retired from his business of building luxury homes in the Columbus area. In retirement, they cherished spending their summers on the screened in porch on Apple Valley Lake, in Ohio, and their winters on the lanai in Punta Gorda, Florida – as they liked to say, “watching the world go by.”

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Douglas Warren Butterman. She is survived by her children, Belinda (David) Pierce, Bruce (Pamela) Burton, Bradley (Maria) Burton, Beth (Mike) Durham and stepdaughters, Stephanie (John) Hughes, and Carie (Chad) DeLong, sister-in-law, Kathy Jacobs, her grandchildren, Timothy (Colleen) Regula, Katherine (Alec) Platz, Jacob Burton, Edward (Lessly) Burton, Arlene Burton, Thomas (Maggie) Ferritto, Brittany (Joseph) Wilson, Brock (Abbey) Hughes, Broden Hughes, Braxton Hughes, Madison Monroe and Miley DeLong, along with great-grandchildren, Reagan, Renley, Rhett, Stevie and Baby Brian.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Barabara will be remembered for her love of family, her enjoyment of travel and lake life, and the many years she spent creating cherished memories with those she loved.
