Barbara Jean Henry, age 82, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at her home.
She was born on July 2, 1944, in Eureka, Ohio, the daughter of Vernon and Hallie (Montgomery) Henry.
Barbara cherished the simple things in life. She especially enjoyed spending time talking with her family and looked forward to taking an evening walk. Her love for her family and the time she shared with them will be fondly remembered.
Barbara will be dearly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her companion of 51 years, Gene Thompson, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence Henry, William Henry, Richard Henry, Paul Henry, Glenn Henry, George Henry, and Charles Henry, three sisters, Wanda Becraft, Ramona Angel, and Sylvia Henry.
In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services at this time. The family will honor her memory privately.
