Cy Wallace: A shifty 5-foot-8, 150-pound running back and safety, Wallace rushed for 1,436 yards and 19 touchdowns on 169 carries. In two varsity seasons, Wallace has rushed for 2,445 yards and 33 TDs on 253 carries. He is on pace to break Heath Buckingham’s career rushing mark of 3,470 yards. He already has 12 career 100-yard rushing games, one off Buckingham’s program record of 13.

The Blue Devils are loaded. Coach Matt Blum welcomes back a wealth of talent from last year’s regional runner-up team, including junior running back Cy Wallace and sophomore quarterback Parker Proper. Blum is 44-13 in four seasons with 13 playoff wins, second on Danville’s all-time playoff victories list behind Ed Honabarger (20). Danville’s top five tacklers from a season ago all return. The Blue Devils ranked second in the KMAC in total defense last year, allowing 240.4 yards per game. Danville will be in the hunt for its third KMAC title after winning conference titles in 2017 and 2023.
