FREDERICKTOWN — Members of the Fredericktown FFA Chapter made a strong showing at the 2026 Knox County Fair, held July 26 to Aug. 1.
In addition to showing livestock, all FFA members crafted woodworking projects to display in the FFA Building. Several members also exhibited homegrown plants and vegetables.
Fredericktown was well-represented across multiple species categories throughout the week. In the cattle barns, Kellen Algire took home Grand Champion Market Steer and placed 10th overall with his second market steer.
Austin Frazier added to the chapter’s success by earning Grand Champion Simmental and Grand Champion Born, Bred, and Raised Market Steer, alongside placing 4th and 8th overall with his market steers.
Gage Robinson took home Grand Champion Born, Bred, and Raised Dairy Market Feeder, Grand Champion Dairy Market Feeder, Reserve Champion Born, Bred, and Raised Dairy Market Steer, and 5th dairy market steer.
Austin Robinson exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion Born, Bred, and Raised and 7th overall dairy market feeder, as well as the Grand Champion Born, Bred, and Raised and 4th overall dairy market steer, which also earned the Grand Champion Carcass award. Ella Bouton captured Master Showman in the Dairy Cattle show.
In the sheep and goat divisions, Nash Stull won Grand Champion Market Goat as well as Reserve Grand Champion Intermediate Showman. Kellen Algire placed 8th overall with his market lamb.
In the small animal and swine departments, Carl Dickerson earned Reserve Grand Champion Turkey in poultry, while Ella Bouton captured the 17-year-old division championship in swine showmanship.
Overall, all livestock exhibitors represented the chapter well, with the majority placing across multiple classes.
Equine
In the Equine division, Lily Hambleton showed her horse, Waylon, throughout the week,
competing in over 30 classes.
Her performance earned her two major titles: Versatility Grand Champion and Contest Challenge Grand Champion.
Hambleton captured first-place honors in Hunter Halter, Egg and Spoon, Ranch Trail, Ranch Showmanship, Stake Race, and Flags. She also added second-and third-place finishes in Dressage, Hunter Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Handy Hunter Trail, Barrels, Team Tournament, Green Hunter Cross Rails, Ranch Horsemanship, and Keyhole, along with top five ribbons across dressage, equitation, and speed events.
Meanwhile, inside the FFA Building, several members earned top honors for their still exhibits.
Reagan Blanchard earned Best of Show for her gardening display, Kiersten Mills won Best of Show for soybeans, Allissya Dugan took Best of Show for vegetables, and Mason Flack received Best of Show for his large woodworking Project.
All of these members spent countless hours preparing their entries and represented their Chapter with pride.
The 2026 Knox County Fair concluded as a major success across all departments. From Grand champion banners to top skillathon honors, the Fredericktown FFA Chapter represented its school and community with distinction throughout fair week.
