FREDERICKTOWN — Fredericktown’s newest EMS Chief Alexa Haught brings years of experience and a deep familiarity with the village into her new role.
Alexa Haught was appointed Fredericktown EMS Chief on July 6. She follows in the footsteps of former EMS chief Rick Lanuzza. Lanuzza served in the position since 2004. He was appointed the new director of Knox County 911 in March.
Haught previously worked for urban and rural EMS agencies, as well as the emergency department of a large metropolitan hospital. She has 16 years of experience in EMS, including 11 years as a paramedic.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the community that has welcomed and supported me over the past several years,” Haught said in a statement posted on the Fredericktown EMS’ Facebook page.
“Fredericktown has truly become home, and it is an honor to lead a department filled with some of the most dedicated, compassionate, and talented providers I have ever worked alongside.”
Haught joined Fredericktown EMS as a paramedic in 2020 and has worked as a lieutenant since 2022.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the leadership, mentorship, and trust that has been invested in me,” Haught said. “I look forward to building on that strong foundation while continuing to support our members, serve our community with compassion, and ensure we provide the exceptional care our residents have come to expect.”
Haught joins Fire Chief Douglas Neighbarger and future Police Chief James T. DeChant as new Fredericktown leadership.
“(Haught) brings a deep passion for serving others, supporting her fellow providers, and putting patients first,” according to the statement.
