CENTERBURG — The Centerburg girls volleyball team took an eight-game winning streak into Tuesday night’s match against the Elgin Comets.

The Trojans came away with win No. 9 in the district semifinal match on their home court and move to 22-2 on the season.

“Any tournament play that we get, we’re really excited about,” head coach Abby Boudinot said. “We studied up on Elgin, and I feel like we really executed our game plan.”

Centerburg won in three straight sets, 25-15, 25-7 and 25-17. The Trojans have won 16 of their last 17 home games.

“It was really exciting. I have a really fun group, and they’re very high energy, so it was nice to see them perform in the way I know they can,” Boudinot said.

Centerburg is ranked No. 12 in Division V and will take on seventh-seeded Richwood North Union on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Ohio Dominican University.

The Wildcats beat No. 1 seed Madison Plains on Tuesday to earn the trip to the district finals.
