MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Recycling and Litter Prevention announces that Green Machine will provide mechanical loading services at the Knox County Compost Facility on Saturday, May 16, and Saturday, May 23, from 8 a.m. to noon.

“Businesses, residents, anyone with a vehicle can come and be loaded. This is Step 1 to getting the compost facility back to normal operations,” Recycling and Litter Prevention Coordinator Matt Baugher said.

There is no limit to the amount of material participants may receive. Attendees are welcome to re‑enter the line for additional loads. The ground material is free of charge.

Participants should line up on Thayer Road on the morning of each event. Staff will direct vehicles and maintain an efficient loading process.
