Charles Gramelt, age 85, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Brookdale of Mount Vernon.
He was born on November 19, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio and was the son to the late John and Susan (Karst) Gramelt.
Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his son, Charles Gramelt Jr. and his daughter, Hilda Marie (Douglas) Lumbatis; three grandchildren, Kayla Crawshaw, Kimberly Cook, Joseph Roman; two great-grandchildren, Reese Crawshaw, Parker Cook; along with a sister, Annie Gramelt.
Charles was preceded in death by brothers, Steve Gramelt, George Gramelt, John Gramelt; two sisters, Helen and Mary.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon. A graveside will immediately follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with military graveside honors conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
