GAMBIER — Habitat for Humanity of Knox County invites community members of all ages and abilities to participate in the Habitat 5K + 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on Friday, May 23.

The event starts at 9 a.m. at the Gambier Community Center.

This family-friendly event offers a 5K run and a 1-mile fun run/walk, making it accessible for competitive runners, casual walkers, and families alike.

Participants will enjoy a scenic course through Gambier, including a stretch along the Kokosing Gap Trail.

Proceeds from the event will directly support Habitat for Humanity of Knox County’s mission to build safe, affordable housing and strengthen communities. Funds raised will help local families achieve homeownership and provide critical resources for home construction and repair programs throughout Knox County.

“Events like this are a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when a community comes together,” said Executive Director Terry Schulz. “Every step taken during this race helps build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter for families right here in Knox County.”

Affordable housing remains a significant need in the area, and Habitat for Humanity continues to partner with local families, volunteers, and donors to create lasting impact. By participating in the 5K + Fun Run/Walk, individuals are investing not only in their own health, but also in the future of their community.

Registration is now open. For more information, to register, or to learn about sponsorship and volunteer opportunities, visit: https://www.hfhknoxoh.org/hfh-5k-1mile.
