Edward Lee Groff, of Howard, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 12, 2025, from a massive stroke. He was 64 years old.
He was born in Lancaster, PA, son of the late Clayton S. Groff and Elsie (Shenk) Groff of Quarryville, PA. Ed graduated from Penn Manor High School, Class of 1979. He worked for Lacko Poured Walls Excavating in Columbus, OH for close to 40 years doing footers and flatwork as a surveyor.
He is survived by his children, Natalie E. (Groff) Smith (Justin) and Nathaniel J. Groff (Whitney), both of Ohio. 4 grandchildren (soon to be 5) Landon Groff, Emersyn and Autumn Smith and Raegan Groff, all of Ohio. He is also survived by a sister Diane M. Mimnall and friend, Keith Hoffman, and a brother Steven L. Groff (Dawn).
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jeffrey Mimnall, all of PA.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio.
