Marceline “Marcy” R. (Latham) Reed, 96, Mount Vernon, went to be with our Lord on Monday morning, November 17, 2025, following an 11 month stay at Morrow Manor, Chesterville, Ohio.
Marcy was born, June 2, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of the late Carl and Ruby (Talbott) Latham.
Marcy was a wife, mother, homemaker, and employed at the Mount Vernon Developmental Center where she took loving care of handicap children. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Bradenton, Florida, where she helped managed the mobile home park at Casa Del Ray for 17 years.
She was a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Temple, and attended New Life Nazarene. As ready as Marcy was to be with Jesus, and see her loved ones who were already in Heaven, she fought a good fight to stay with us.
Marcy will be greatly missed by; her daughter Pamela (Lee) Baldwin of Mount Vernon; daughter-in-law CJ Reed (Chris) Faulkner of Irving, Texas; five grandchildren, Dean (Tammy) Sweatnam of McKinney, Texas, Shelly (Scott) Laslo of Mt. Vernon, Melissa (Matt) Stier of Cincinnati, Ohio, Garrett (Sarah) Reed of Plano, Texas, TJ Reed of Haiku, Hawaii; 7 great-grandchildren, Cole, Jarrod, Jordyn, Alex, Liam, Carson, Camden; One sister, Pat Fowler of Canal Winchester; one brother Terry (Rosemary) Latham of Mt. Vernon; Sisters-in-law, Alice Latham and Linda Latham of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents, Marcy was preceded in death by her husband Galen of 62 years, her son
Gary L. Reed, sister Geraldine (Latham) Reed, brothers Bufford Latham and Rick Latham, and brothers-in-law Chalmer Reed and Larry Fowler.
We would like to thank the staff at Morrow Manor, where they treat the residents like family members, and also Ohio Health Hospice for their care and kindness.
The family will host calling hours on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10:00 to Noon, followed by a memorial service, at Lasater-Snyder funeral chapel at 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd, Mount Vernon, Ohio, with Pastor Tracy Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown, Ohio, with Roger Marra officiating.
