Obituary for Ora Lee Miller
Ora Lee Miller, 85, of Utica OH, passed away in Sarasota FL, on November 12, 2025. He was born in LaGrange IN, October 6, 1940, to Simon B. and Lydia Miller. He was married on May 26, 1960 to Rosa J. Miller, who passed away December 2, 2014. He then was married June 3, 2017 to Esther Burkholder, who survives.
He was a member of Melita Christian Fellowship. He was well-known in the community as a farmer and window/siding installer. He enjoyed playing guitar and mandolin. Operating his backhoe was another favorite pastime. He never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting new people. After marrying Esther, he enjoyed meeting and hauling Amish in Sarasota during the winter months.
Survivors include his wife, Esther, 9 step children, 53 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren; he and Rosa’s children; Richard (Bertha) of Gambier OH; Wayne (Ada) of Columbus NC; Marion (Miriam) of Gambier OH; Sharon (Jonny) Gingerich of Arcola IL; Arlen (Rita) of Inman SC; grandchildren: Cierra (Seth) Stoltzfus, Hannah, Javin (Brianne), Zackary (Amanda), Felicia, Kimberly, Quinton (Aly), Kenton (Emily), Justin, Jacklyn, Kara, Bennett Gingerich, Andre Gingerich, Analise, Ross, Madelyn, Katriel, Kingston, great grandchildren Charles and Gloria, one brother Leroy (Sylvia) and two sister-in-laws, Gladys Miller and Odessa Miller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Rosa, a daughter Karen, a son Paul and a miscarried great-grandson; four brothers, Lester, Lloyd, Olen and Ray Miller.
The family will be receiving friends and family on Saturday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Sunday morning. Both calling hours and funeral will be held at Melita Christian Fellowship Church, 9956 Camp Ohio Road, Utica, OH 43080. Burial will follow at the Melita Church Cemetery, services being conducted by the Melita ministerial team.
