MOUNT VERNON — The second No Kings Day of Action is set for Saturday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. on Public Square. Signs on the Square and Knox County Ohio Indivisible will host the event.

Those interested in joining the event can register and receive more information here: https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/840304/.

“As we have been doing since 2017, Signs on the Square is standing together to protest policies that disadvantage citizens, the environment, education, and more,” Joan Slonczewski, organizer and founder of the ongoing Signs on the Square events, said. “We look forward to welcoming residents to the Square for this important rally.”

Knox Indivisible founder Meg Galipault said, “President Trump continues to pretend he’s a dictator, and we are standing up again to push back against his authoritarian actions. Our peaceful day of action is going to bring together local residents from all walks of life who share a simple message: We don’t do kings in America.”

No Kings Mount Vernon is part of a coalition of No Kings events throughout Central Ohio. More than 20 communities — from Bexley to Zanesville — will hold rallies and protests during the morning and early afternoon, culminating in a protest at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus from 4 to 5:30 pm.

On June 14, more than 5 million people across all 50 states joined No Kings in the largest single-day protest yet against President Trump’s authoritarianism. The Oct. 18 day of action is the next step in the growing movement, channeling that energy into another coordinated, peaceful mobilization.

The No Kings Mount Vernon event also joins with other No Kings peaceful protests across the country led by a coalition of groups, including ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, Human Rights Campaign, and Indivisible, among others. Click here to see a full list of partners.
