Retha Jean DeHaven, age 67, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 29, 1958, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late Harold G. Stockdale and Florence E. VanNoy.
Retha worked for Columbus Corporate Housing as a supervisor for over 35 years. She loved going to bingo, casinos, and live county music concerts, Loretta Lynn was her favorite singer. Retha was a member of the Bingo Beauties and would travel to Kentucky and West Virginia to play. She loved her boss’s and co-workers and treated them like family. Retha enjoyed joking around in typical Retha style with her co-workers.
Retha is survived by her sisters, Tina (Sam) Sovine, Susan (Tom) Waddell; brothers, Timothy (Jill) Riggs, Shawn VanNoy; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and best friend, Cindy (Roma) Self.
Along with her parents, Retha is preceded in death by her husband, Richard DeHaven, a step-father, Gerald VanNoy; and significant other, Tom Trotter.
The family will host calling hours and memorial service at Faith Baptist Church; 8764 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of service starting at 12:00 pm with Pastor Chuck Johnson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
