MOUNT VERNON — Two men were indicted on strangulation and assault charges in Monday’s Knox County grand jury session.
Count one alleges that on or about July 16, Corey B. Woods knowingly created, “a substantial risk of harm to another by strangulation or suffocation, who is a family or household member,” a fourth-degree felony.
The second count, a first-degree assault misdemeanor, alleges Woods was “causing or attempting to cause physical harm to another” on or about the same day as the first count.
The grand jury also indicted Andrew J. Schuster on a second-degree felony count of strangulation. Schuster allegedly “knowingly caused serious physical harm by strangulation or suffocation,” on or about July 18.
The Knox County Grand Jury also indicted Schuster on a first-degree misdemeanor count of assault for allegedly “knowingly causing or attempting to cause physical harm to another,” on or about July 18, as well.
Other grand jury indictments
The grand jurors indicted three others on charges as well. The three other individuals indicted include:
Stephen L. Lanning, Mount Vernon, kidnapping, second-degree felony; specification to count one; and a forfeiture specification to count one.
Bobby L. Taylor, Columbus, rape, first-degree felony; strangulation, second-degree felony.
Reva L. Doyle, Mount Vernon, aggravated possession of drugs, second-degree felony; and aggravated trafficking in drugs, second-degree felony.
