Connie L. Wells, age 78, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 17, 1946, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Mary (Gilbert) Earnest.
Connie was known as a woman of great faith. She shared her love for God with everyone around her. She was a secretary for the Mount Vernon High School and Columbia Elementary Schools. She loved to bake and would often surprise her family and friends with cakes and cookies. She liked the quote, “Life is like a box of Chocolates”, and frequently said it quite often. She also enjoyed growing and taking care of her flowers.
Connie is survived by her children, Michelle (Scott) Hutcheson, Darren Brasseur, Susan (Ralph) Rice, Brenda (Steve) Spearman, Terry Blaine Wells, Vicki Wells Vermillion, Mindy (Mike) Walker, Timothy (Missy) Wells; grandchildren, Alison (Dereck) Fisher, Kayla (Randy) Spade, Rachael (Zach) Maxey, Adam Canter, Nick Canter, Amy (Logan) Kelling; 22 grandchildren in all; and 19 great-grandchildren; she is also survived by her sister, Sheila Shoults.
Along with her parents, Connie is preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Earnest.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 12:00 pm until the time of funeral service starting at 1:00 pm at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050 with Ben Staats officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of Connie’s favorite charities: Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE 68010.
