Susan Birie, age 70, of Fredericktown passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at her home with her loving family at her side.
She was born on August 20, 1954, in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Harold Brown and Wanetta (Boyce) Beckholt. Susan was a member of the Saint John the Baptist Parish and Saint Vincent de Paul Church. Following 36 years as a Marketing Education teacher she then became the Director of Religious Education at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Susan enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family and close friends and especially her grandson Finn.
She is survived by her husband, of over 46 years, Deacon Tim Birie; her daughter Elizabeth Birie; her son Christopher (Marianne) Birie; her grandson Phineas “Finn” Birie; her brothers, Steve (Alverta) Brown, Stanley Brown; and her sisters, Sheila (Steve) Zieg and Sandra (Don Snyder) Overholt.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will take place on Monday, beginning at 10:00 am, at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with The Very Reverend Father Mark J. Hammond as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Parrish.
