John J. Vukovich, 76, of Fredericktown passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Columbus on December 16, 1948 to the late John and Violet (Datkovich) Vukovich.
John was part of the last graduating class from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Columbus. He honorably served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. John was a truck driver by trade and worked for several area companies, retiring from CCX. He was a member of the American Legion Jenkins Vaughan Post 97 in Cardington and Saint John the Baptist Parish, attending Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. John enjoyed keeping his family on their toes.
John is survived by his wife, Anna Marie (Spohn) Vukovich, whom he married on May 18, 1974; children, Tina (Nick) Peirsol of Delaware, Nicholas J. Vukovich of Fredericktown and Jo Anna (Brent) Nofziger of Waterville; and grandchildren, Timothy Vukovich, Emma Nofziger, Rylee Peirsol and Brody Nofziger.
The family will receive friends from 11 – 2 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Dowds Chapel, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. with Deacon Tim Birie presiding. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chesterville.
