MOUNT VERNON – Get ready to set out on an intergalactic adventure as Downtown Mount Vernon transforms into a haven for all things Star Wars.

Join us all day on May 4, 2024 as we celebrate the iconic saga that has captured hearts across the galaxy.

The force will be strong in Downtown Mount Vernon on May 4, as we invite fans of all ages to immerse themselves in a universe filled with Jedi, Sith, droids, and more.

Beginning at noon, the streets will be alive with the sounds of lightsabers clashing and droids beeping.

Event attendees are encouraged to wear their best Jedi robes, Sith armor, or droid disguises all day to be entered in drawings, receive discounts, and take pictures at the various selfie stations around town.

Highlights

  • Kids’ Jedi Training from noon to 4 p.m.: Embark on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with our Jedi Training. Younglings and Padawans, ages 6-14, are invited to join us for an unforgettable experience where they will learn the ways of the Force by completing the Five Jedi Trials: Trial of the Flesh, Trial of Courage, Trial of Insight, Trial of Skill, and Trial of the Spirit. After completing all five, participants will receive their official Jedi Medallion. A printable Jedi Training Map will be available in the May the Fourth Be With You event page.
  • Galactic Market: Explore the bustling Downtown Mount Vernon shops and restaurants to enjoy specials, discounts, trivia, and selfie stations all day.
  • Lightsaber Training: Train to become a true master of the Lightsaber with training at Old Mr. Bailiwick’s. Learn the art of combat and hone your skills under the guidance of experience Jedi Masters. Younglings and Padawans welcome! Spaces are limited and pre-registration is required by contacting Old Mr. Bailiwick’s (740) 326-9093.
  • Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), 4 to 11 p.m.: Visit your favorite Downtown Cantina to enjoy refreshing D.O.R.A. beverages to-go as you make your way through the Galaxy. For more information on MV DORA visit www.experiencemv.org/mount-vernon-dora.
  • Grogu “Baby Yoda” Scavenger Hunt: Set about on a whimsical journey through the heart of Downtown as Grogu becomes your unexpected guide to an enchanting scavenger hunt! Join the galaxy’s most beloved little green creature at Almost Famous Sweets & Sodas as he holds the the first key (QR code)  to unlocking a series of clues scattered through various shops ending with a small prize.   • Cantina Concert and Costume Contest: End the day on a high note with live music at Flappers Bar & Grille featuring Roundhouse. While you’re there show off your best Jedi robes, Sith armor, or droid disguises in an epic costume contest. Prizes will be awards for the most authentic and creative costume, so channel your inner Skywalker or Vader and join the fun!
