MOUNT VERNON — The Ohio Eastern Star Home will host an informational Coffee Hour at the Gallagher Centre on Wednesday, April 17, at 2 p.m. The event is open to the public.

The Pine Hill Independent Senior Living community is set to open in Mount Vernon in November.

Are you or a loved one searching for independent living options in a senior community? Pine Hill offers a variety of condominiums and apartments within a safe and stunning neighborhood setting.

Join us for coffee hour, where you can learn about community amenities, explore designer showcase options, and meet potential new neighbors. There’s no commitment necessary to attend and ask questions, so we encourage you to come and discover the premier senior living experience at Pine Hill.

The Ohio Eastern Star Home broke ground on the Pine Hill addition in March 2023 after COVID put the project on hold for a few years. Plans have been in place for nearly five years for this expansion to meet the growing need for premier senior living in the Knox County area.

The 96-unit community is located on the 60-acre Ohio Eastern Star Home campus, just north of the current campus at the intersection of Eastern Star Road and New Gambier Road.

It includes 40 apartments surrounded by 56 condos on the north perimeter and a separate building for dining options on the south. All units are rentals. The apartments are scheduled to open in November, and the condominiums will open in 2025.

“It has been such a long journey to get here,” Michele Engelbach, CEO of The OES Home, said. “We are so excited! We have worked diligently to include as many local subcontractors as possible, so it is truly a project built for the community, by the community. Join us on April 17, meet our contractors, and see what your future home could look like.”
