MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County engineer has awarded a construction contract to Law General Contracting Inc. to perform Phase I of the Danville-Amity Road Safety Improvement Project.

ODOT Safety Funds and the Ohio Public Works Commission fully fund the project, which is estimated to cost $2,918,405.

Phase I of the Danville-Amity Road construction is scheduled to begin in March 2024.

Law General Contracting Inc. will begin work on the section between Skyline Drive and Chapel Road.

Once they complete this section, they will move east, ending at the Village of Danville corporation limit.

The project will be extensive, consisting of roadway widening, resurfacing, ditch
improvements, culvert work and installation of guardrail.

Reconstruction will greatly impact travel in the area. Please plan an alternate route, or expect temporary delays and/or road closures.

Project completion is slated for Fall 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting. Direct any questions to the Knox County Engineer’s Office.
