Leona Ann Poulton, age 83, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was born on February 21, 1940, in Newark, Ohio, to the late David and Mary (Rowley) Poulton.
Leona loved her dogs and dear friends more than anything. Her laugh filled up a room with joy. She loved mowing grass with the John Deere she named “Johnny.”
Leona is survived by her sisters; Helen Jones, and Dorothy Chopson; along with many nieces, nephews and a special friend, John Dennis.
Along with her parents, Leona is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Raines; brother-in-law, Kelly Raines; and brothers, Raymond, William, and Clarence Poulton.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date in Homer Cemetery in Homer, Ohio.
