Peter C. Ferris, age 69, of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 12, 2023.
He was born on April 2, 1954, in Akron, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Janice (Amonette) Ferris. Peter was employed and retired from the Port Columbus International Airport, for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he served as the Airways Facilities Manager. Peter was a veteran serving in the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses and tending to his farm. But most of all he loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, of over 43 years, Susan (Pacetti) Ferris; his son Peter (Jessica) Ferris; his daughters Nicole (Scott Pullins) Ferris, Stephanie Ferris; his grandchildren, Kyla, Abilene and Jonathan Ferris; and his sister Angela Ferris.
In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his brothers Clyde and John Ferris.
In keeping with Peter’s wishes there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private graveside service.
